A woman outside of time, a landscape outside of history

Performance lecture by the artist-researcher Krasimira Butseva, current Artist in residence at Cultmind. 

The performance lecture travels through missing photographs, erased records, and landscapes that continue to carry the traces of political violence. It binds together her work spanning across state and vernacular archives, oral histories, and former forced labour camp sites in Bulgaria. Shifting through archival material, images, texts and sounds, the performance lecture reflects also on fragments of women within history: within the socialist and post-socialist Bulgarian landscape.
