Interview with Margret Jeager and Mustafa Abdalla

Earlier in March 2022, DECOLMAD interviewed Margret Jeager and Mustafa Abdalla about their collaborative experience in training health practitioners in Egypt on medical anthropology.

Margret Jeager is a medical anthropologist and head of research unit at Fonds Soziales Wien (FSW) in Vienna, and Mustafa Abdalla is a medical anthropologist and an Associate Researcher at the Institute of Social and Cultural Anthropology in the Free University Berlin. 

How did this idea for this training come about? How was the training conceptualized, and what kinds of issues around mental health and illness emerge? and why are these trainings important for health practitioners in Egypt? We address all these questions and more in the interview below!
