Pandemic and mental health in transcultural contexts:
Core themes in global Covid-19 mental health research

How the pandemic affects. The politization of feeling amidst a global health crisis

This thematic cluster explores different ways in which the responses to the COVID-19 pandemic highlight the centrality of the concept of feeling to the political projects carried out by nation states.

Peace of mind

The Peace of Mind Collection is a curated compilation of scientific papers, newspaper articles, and books that explore mental health policies, practices, and concepts within the context of broader social upheavals during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Languages of suffering. Transcultural constructions of suffering, pain, and healing during the pandemic

This thematic cluster explores local conceptions and ideas of suffering (and recovery/healing) in both lay and clinical narratives, as these came to be signified during the COVID-19 pandemic. Local concepts, idioms, and metaphors often convey ideas and assumptions about illness and mental health.

Alternative forms of mental healing / Arts and Covid-19 Mental Health

The COVID-19 pandemic had a psychological impact globally. This impact resulted from the difficulty making sense of the nature of the virus, difficulty coping with the disruption to daily life, and the fear of getting infected with its consequences on the self or loved ones. Individuals devised different coping strategies during this period.
